A Love Affair with Mr. Jones

One of my favorite restaurants in the city is Charlie Bird, so when I heard their sister restaurant, Pasquale Jones, was opening nearby (rewind to 2016), I did my research and jumped to get a reservation...except I couldn't get a reservation for a year! With that said, I didn't try so hard after the first few months, and figured I'd wait until the hype died down. Except it never did.

Fast forward a year later, and I was looking for a fun place to go with some friends near SoHo and figured I would find a date far enough in advance to score a reservation on RESY. Unlike most restaurants that let you make reservations 30 days in advance, Pasquale Jones books 14 days out, so I was very strategic about how and when I would go about making this reservation. I stayed up until midnight to book the table two weeks before and got it! The reservations were slim picking; I could only get it for four people at 7:30pm on a Thursday (but we were six and the restaurant wasn't able to accommodate any more, so I secretly hoped for the next two weeks that two people would cancel -- sorry friends! Three people ended up canceling... but the table was the same for 3 or 4, so we were fine).

We waited about 10 minutes for our table to be ready, but for once this didn't bother me because the waitress offered us a little wine tasting, so we can pick our wine before sitting down. Once we sat, we gazed at the menu and had the waitress help us pick the best items. Here's what we ended up getting:

Buratta: Kumquats, Broccolini & Almonds

Brussels Sprouts: Fonduta & Prosciutto di Parma

Cappelletti: Wild Mushrooms, Sunchokes & Cultured Butter

Little Neck Clam Pizza: Parsley, Garlic, Lemon & Cream

Everything was beyond incredible, and the Clam Pizza was one of the best of its kind. I also really liked that the tip was included, so once you get the bill, you know what you'll end up paying at first glance.

I will still continue to wait until midnight to book a reservation and will not be waiting another year to visit. Mr. Jones, you did not disappoint and give me the ultimate foodgasm. Congrats you get a 10/10!
