Let's Taco 'bout Temerario

As soon as I moved out of Chelsea, a hip, trendy and fairly-well reviewed Mexican restaurant opens (from the guys of The Black Ant) a block from my old apartment. Go figure! A few months later, after all of the hype, I decide to check it out with a group of my girlfriends. The decor was very hipster-esq with graffiti wall art, exposed brick and bright neon lights. The menu featured wide variety of dishes, so we tried to get a little by of everything. Here's what we got: Guacamole: Tomatillo, jalapeño, cilantro chapulin salt

Delicious Guac and the chips were fresh! Sabritones: Chicharron, avocado, queso fresco, valentin

I thought I was ordering something completely different, but it was good. I definitely didn't need it though. It would have been smart to save more room for what's coming next! Fish Tacos: Codfish Baja style, cacahuate salsa, red cabbage on flour tortillas

These were delicious. We got two orders which was plenty, but glad we did!

Enmoladas De Pollo: Chicken, red Teloloapan mole, avocado, queso fresco, radish salad

So, the picture looks like poop, but these mole enchiladas were good and also came with rice and beans. I love anything mole and had to get them. The sauce could have been a little richer.

We also got the seafood and scallop ceviche which was decent. My friend loved them, so maybe I am just not a ceviche person?

I give Temerario a 7/10. The food was yummy, but nothing special. It great if you are looking for tacos at a local neighborhood spot, but there are much butter Mexican restaurants in the city.
