Bravo, Babbalucci!
Up until last weekend, the only times I’ve been up to Harlem was to see live Jazz music or indulge in authentic soul food. Aside from fantasizing about going to Rao's, I never thought I could find good Italian spot above 96th street, until I tried Babbalucci!
Curated by Executive Chef and Co-Owner Andrew LoPresto, Babbalucci's menu consists of Wood Burning Oven Pizza, delectable pastas and incredible authentic Italian desserts. Their extensive wine list is hand-picked by an in-house sommelier, who is available at the restaurant to provide insight and advice on the best wine pairings for your food. I tended to flock to the more traditional dishes, but everything we ordered was incredible.
Here’s a selection of what we got:
Romana: grilled romaine, grana, croutons and anchovy dressing
Spaghettoni: tomato sauce, beef meatballs, grana and basil
Eggplant Parmigiana: eggplant, tomato, mozzarella and parmigiano
**This picture really doesn't do the dish justice, but it was definitely one of the best eggplant parm dishes that I ever had
Americana Pizza: mozzarella, tomato sauce, grana, oregano, garlic and red pepper flakes
Tiramisu
I have no complaints about my experience. The food was delicious and you can tell everything is fresh out of the oven, the service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was super cozy and intimate. The spot is great for all occasions! Bravo, Babbalucci, you gave me many foodgasms and get a 10/10.
